Pop Tarts Happy Sunshine Time

As I'm eating my Pop Tart this morning (brown sugar cinnamon) I am reminded of the funniest Pop Tart commercial I've ever seen! Jake and I discovered it last night while watching Survivor (I think this is still the plan?). Anyway, before I show it to you, I have to explain. It's not like roll on the floor funny (unless you were with us last night when we had to rewind it and watch it again). It's more of "who thought of these lyrics" funny. Here's a little preview before the show...

"Stretch & yawn, blow a kiss to mom. Cause Pop Tarts mornings are the bomb!" Watch and listen. You'll think it's funny too!

43 in 423

Since I'm starting the new blog, I figured I'd repost this - since I'm still working on it.

I decided to give myself 423 days to do 43 things. In exactly 423 days, I will be celebrating my 1 year anniversary with Jake. I thought that was a good number to use. And 43 items, cause that's 10% of 423... and cause it sounded cool. Below is my list. when I finish an item, I will highlight it and make it bold. I will italicize those items I am currently working on. I'll make a new post each time I finish something on my list and link it to this original post. Wish me luck!

Lego My Lego

Last week was Simon's 6th birthday. Jake volunteered me to make a cake, which I really didn't mind doing. At all. Until I asked what kind of cake Simon wanted. His response? "A square cake... the biggest square cake ever!" I wanted to be a little more creative than just a square cake. After hours and hours of thinking about it, I finally found the perfect cake.
(Sorry about the weird coloring - this was taken on my phone)

Simon always asks me to help him build his Lego sets so I thought this was appropriate. Liz said his favorite color is green, hence the green lego block. What do you think?

Oh Ikea, how I love thee...

Jake and I hit up Ikea this weekend for some home decor. We kind of already knew what we wanted so the trip was a success. There is still more to buy, but we just started with these few basics.
This is my dresser. It matches the ones Jake already has. I was worried about us having enough room for all our clothes (don't be surprised - I think Jake has just as much as I do!) but now we each have our own dressers. Yay!

These are the new bedside end tables. They look much better than the ones that Jake was using (old almost broken plastic filing bins and a filing cabinet). And to fit in 2 of the squares, we got these!...

All put together, it looks really nice. I take any pics of it last night, but I will eventually. Probably not until I'm all moved in and it's all organized. then you'll get pics. Until then, you get pieces!

1 + 1 = 1

Jake and I have 1 of everything. Each. I have 1 set of dishes, he has 1 set of dishes. I have 1 hot air popcorn popper, he has 1 hot air popcorn popper. I have 1 (OK well 2) blog(s), he has 1 blog. I figured since we're combining houses, we might as well combine the blog. So here it is! Ta-Da! Aren't you excited? I thought you would be. Now, Jake doesn't blog very often so this will mostly be me rambling on and on and on and on about random things, book, cakes, whatever. But occasionally I'm sure you'll get to hear from Jake as well. So sit back, grab a Dr. Pepper, and enjoy!
